Enjoy a wide range of benefits and perks

With the guest card, you’ll receive free admission or discounts at many attractions. The guest card also includes the free Harz Ticket HATIX for public transportation.

Ask your landlord to give you your guest card right after you arrive, or pick up your guest card at the Walkenried Tourist Information Office . That way, you can enjoy all the benefits of your vacation from the very first minute.

Best of all: The Walkenried Guest Card is valid not only in our local communities. As it also serves as a Harz Guest Card, it entitles you to free admission or discounted rates in many towns throughout the Harz region. An overview of all terms and benefits is provided below.

One card, many benefits
The guest card issued by the municipality of Walkenried offers you the following discounts in the monastery town of Walkenried, in the health resort of Zorge, and in Wieda:
  • WALKENRIED
  • 5 postcards for the price of 3 at the Walkenried Tourist Information Office
  • Discounted court rental at the Walkenried Tennis Club, Inc.
  • €0.50 off the admission price at the Cistercian Museum at Walkenried Abbey
  • WIEDA
  • Free Admission to the Public Library
  • Free admission to the Glass and Metallurgy Museum
  • ZORGE
  • Free Admission to the Public Library
  • Discounts at the Forest Swimming Pool
In addition, your guest card is a HATIX ticket, which lets you travel comfortably and for free by bus throughout the Harz.
Cost Overview
Guest contribution from the Walkenried community
During this stay, a guest contribution is charged, which must be paid separately to your respective host or hotel. When you pay the guest contribution in the Walkenried municipality, you will receive the guest card from your host. With this card, you can enjoy a variety of discounts and benefits in the monastery town of Walkenried, the health resort of Zorge, and in Wieda, as well as in the surrounding Harz area. You can also use public buses for free with the guest card.

  • Adults:
    2.10 € per person per day
  • First child in a family (ages 7–17):
    €1.05 per person per day
    Additional children and children up to age 6:
    Free of charge

About 50 towns in the Harz region also offer discounts or free admission to recreational activities with the Walkenrieder Guest Card. In addition, the guest card allows you to ride public buses for free.
